Aviation brings out photographers. Whether it be from the ground looking up at the sky, a shot from the cabin window onto the Earth below, or indeed, whether a trip to one’s local airport to see these big birds take off and land.
Two such colleagues of mine, Matt Cawby and Rick Schlamp routinely capture some stunning imagery for the world to see from Paine and Boeing Field.
You can visit their respective sites here and here.
Not so long ago, Qatar Airways placed its first order for Boeing 777’s.

Ironically, Qatar Airways still refuses to publically confirm that it is also a Boeing 787 customer. It couldn’t keep that secret from emerging during the 787 Premiere and will neither be able to do so when its first 787 rolls out onto Paine Field. It’s no secret that is also the biggest customer for the Airbus A350XWB family too.
I can’t say I’m a big fan of the way it has emulated the billboard styling like its Persian Gulf rival, Emirates - with the Arabic,
(Al-Qataria) behind it - just as Emirates has Al-Emirat titling seen here, but it’s color scheme carried off nicely on that airplane.
Again, credits to Matt Cawby for his splendid imagery. Thank you.
Delivery is scheduled to take place November 2007.
